Don't Forget The Pets
The economy has caused such an increase in animals being taken, or even dropped off in the middle of the night, at shelters.
But the shelters and rescues are full.
We want to help people keep their beloved pets by providing them with the food that they need. The food we get is taken to area food pantries and civic organizations who cater to people in need. We also take food to individuals living in HUD buildings in Salt Lake City. These buildings house the disabled and elderly, and many of the residents have pets. They are living in these facilities because they live at of below the poverty line and often feed their food to their animals.
Last year, we raised nearly 10,000 pounds of pet food which started off with a pallet of food donated by Associated Foods.

With home foreclosures up and human homelessness at highs unseen since the Great Depression, many people have been forced to give their beloved pets up to shelters and rescues at an alarming rate.
